From an application field of 140 campuses, the Wexner Center for the Arts and The Ohio State University have been awarded a $140,000 Creative Campus Innovations grant by the Association of Performing Arts Presenters to support the development of New York-based theater company The Builders Association's ROAD TRIP (working title), a multimedia theater work looking at the contemporary foreclosure crisis through the lens of Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath.

CAPA today announced its season lineup for 2010-11. Highlights include the return of Columbus' favorite saxophonist extraordinaire, Dave Koz, and the ever-popular, riotous comedy of The Second City. Columbus debuts include acoustic guitarist Benise who brings his lavish stage production, The Spanish Guitar, to the Palace Theatre; DRUMLINE LIVE,a show-style marching band showcase based on the film Drumline; and world-renowned, contemporary ballet company, Complexions.

CATCO (Columbus, OH), in association with Andy Sandberg (HAIR), presents the world premiere of the musical, THE LAST SMOKER IN AMERICA, with book and lyrics by Tony Nominee Bill Russell (SIDE SHOW) and music by Drama Desk Nominee Peter Melnick (ADRIFT IN MACAO) under the direction of Andy Sandberg, with choreography by Tony Award nominee AC Ciulla (FOOTLOOSE), music supervision by Fred Lassen and music direction by Andrew Resnick. The four-member cast features Natalie Venetia Belcon as Phyllis, Katy Blake as Pam, John Bolton as Ernie, and Teddy Toye as Jimmy.

Columbus audiences just can't seem to get enough of Shadowbox Live's hit musical Back to the Garden. The theater has already had two successful runs of the musical journey through the Woodstock Festival as well as a free, outdoor performance of the show, which drew over three thousand people. Due to popular demand, the producers at Shadowbox Live decided to bring it back for a third run this fall.
