3 in 30: Home Synopsis

The latest edition of Madlab's 3 in 30 is Home. It is different from the other versions beyond its name. 3 in 30 will still present three original 10-minute plays based on a common theme. In other words, three plays in 30 minutes (or so). However, they have expanded the production time frame. Instead of having only 30 days to have pitches pitched and selected, plays written, directors and casts selected, and the plays rehearsed and performed, they will now have from 2-3 months.

Chris Morris, the founder of 3 in 30 explains: "We have expanded the process for 2011, which enables us not only to develop the plays better but to bring in new actors through auditions. One of our goals has always been to bring new people to acting as well as new work. The first 3 in 30 of the year will present a lot of new faces to the MadLab stage. The extended time period also allows us to polish the plays more and present a better performance. I'm excited about the changes and I think the audiences will be pleased."

To further support this goal, they have also set the dates and a couple of the themes for all of the 3 in 30s in 2011:

3in30 Home - 2/4 & 2/5

3in30 Shadow - 3/18 & 3/19

3in30 TBD - 5/20 & 5/21

3in30 TBD - 10/21 & 10/22

3in30 TBD - 12/2 & 12/3
