The Cleveland Orchestra will have three new commercial recordings available worldwide in May: a new DVD recordings of Franz Welser-Most leading Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 recorded at Severance Hall; Pierre Boulez leading the Adagio from Mahler's Symphony No. 10 and Des Knaben Wunderhorn with vocal soloists Magdalena Kožena, mezzo-soprano, and Christian Gerhaher, baritone; and a CD of Mitsuko Uchida leading and performing Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 20 and 27.

'Celebrating the world we share' is the theme for the second annual International Children's Festival presented by Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital to be held at PlayhouseSquare May 2-7, 2011. The International Children's Festival is a fun and interactive experience featuring performances, workshops, exhibits and an Art Walk. Many of the Festival activities are free of charge. More than 12,000 students and families participated in the first International Children's Festival held in May 2010.

convergence-continuum, continues its 2011 Season at the Liminis theatre with the Mid-West premiere of The Museum Play by Jordan Harrison - a dark and comic exploration of untenable longings to posses the past, and the preservation of love and desire. The Museum Play will be the third work by playwright Jordan Harrison to be produced by convergence-continuum, who have previously presented Harrison's Act a Lady and Finn in the Underworld.

Beck Center Awarded $15K Grant from PNC Foundation

Beck Center for the Arts has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the PNC Foundation to provide early childhood arts education programming for preschoolers enrolled in the Head Start Program through West Side Ecumenical Ministry. PNC provided the funding as part of Grow Up Great, its 10-year, $100 million initiative to improve early childhood education.
