Lou Bellamy to Direct RADIO GOLF at Cleveland Play House, 2/10

Lou Bellamy, Artistic Director of the acclaimed Penumbra Theatre, will direct the Cleveland Play House production of Radio Golf, the Tony Award®-nominated finale of playwright August Wilson's unprecedented ten-play cycle chronicling African-American life in the 20th century. Bellamy has been described as the foremost living interpreter of work of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson, and his Penumbra Theatre is proud to have produced more of Wilson's plays than any other theatre in the world. Radio Golf, a co-production with Indiana Repertory Theatre, will begin in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare on Friday, February 10 and run through Sunday, March 4, 2012. Great Lakes Theater, in partnership with WCPN 90.3 FM ideastream, invites students to submit new, original music inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for its 2012 songwriting contest. The contest is open to soloists or bands. All middle and high school students that reside in Ohio are eligible. Music submissions of all styles and genres are accepted, including instrumentals.

Frankie Avalon, Fabian & Bobby Rydell, "The Golden Boys" from American Bandstand's heyday, have appeared together on such major TV specials as "The American Music Awards," the closing ceremonies of the "Miss Liberty Special" (viewed by over 200 million people) and the ABC Inaugural special "Command Performance: An All-Star Salute To The President."
