PlayhouseSquare announces a new viral video campaign now making its online debut. PlayhouseSquare is excited to connect to new audiences by releasing a seven-video series to be viewed online at www.playhousesquare.org/broadway, shared via Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.
While PlayhouseSquare has been attracting attention since 1921 for its entertaining performances, the way audiences learn about and engage with performances has changed over the years. PlayhouseSquare is linked-in to the Cleveland entertainment scene but is experimenting with new ways to connect to audiences by offering online content and social media interaction."Using social media tools is giving us a whole new way to effectively and efficiently engage in two-way conversations with our audiences," said Autumn Kiser, PlayhouseSquare's Director of Ticket Sales and Marketing. "The video is just one platform for that relationship. People come to see Broadway shows because they want to enjoy a fun evening of entertainment. What better way to encourage that need than to provide content they can share with their friends and followers?"The comedic series of videos intends to blur the line between the ordinary life in the PlayhouseSquare office and neighborhood, with the often surrealism of show business. How do the characters get to the theater? What is an appropriate use of jazz hands? Where is the Fiddler when he is not on the roof? See how PlayhouseSquare gets ready for the big personalities on the KeyBank Broadway Series as the videos will be released sequentially starting November 17, 2009.
