WAIT UNTIL DARK to Begin at Theatre Harrisburg, 3/15

Theatre Harrisburg continues its 87th season with a production of the popular suspense thriller WAIT UNTIL DARK at The Krevsky Production Center. Opening Friday, March 15, other performances are scheduled for March 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24.
Elks Announces GREASE 'SING ALONG EDITION', 3/8-10

The Elks Theatre will present Grease 'Sing Along Edition' starring none other than goody two-shoes Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) and bad boy greaser Danny (John Travolta) as they sing, dance, and fall in love all over again in this toe-tapping adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. For this special screening audiences are encouraged to grab their friends, dress up, and do what they have always wanted to do: Sing Along. Grease will screen all-weekend March 8th thru 10th and will coincide with the Middletown Area High School's and Elizabethtown High School's stage adaptation being performed the previous weekend. A special discount will be provided for students who attend the screenings with school IDs.

Adapted by Wendy Kesselman, the play was first dramatized by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett from the novel Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, edited by Otto Frank. Gamut Theatre Group's Popcorn Hat Players present CINDERELLA written by Sean Adams, an original work based on the traditional folk tale by French author Charles Perrault. Performances are Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:30 and 7:30 at Whitaker Center's Sunoco Theatre in Downtown Harrisburg. The much-beloved folk tale has been adapted into a full-length play performed by students, ages 6 through 18.

The Pennsylvania General Assembly has taken a step to recognize and advance the Commonwealth's creative economy with the establishment of the Pennsylvania Legislative Arts & Culture Caucus. This bipartisan and bicameral caucus was established with the support of the Pennsylvania Arts & Culture Coalition, a statewide coalition that includes the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and other similar regional organizations representing the arts, culture, museums, public broadcasting, tourism and zoos.

When DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre voted to do Peter Pan and Wendy, the big question was: 'how are we going to make them fly?' DreamWrights is a black box theatre, which makes flying actors nearly impossible. You need a lot of height to be able to use a traditional harness flying system, and much more distance from the audience. It also costs a lot of money. So a lot of brainstorming needed to happen. After many talks and production meetings, we decided to try two creative and very exciting ways to simulate flight. Come and see!
