The Ware Center, Millersville University Lancaster, located at 42 North Prince Street, Lancaster, PA, announced its 2013 summer film lineup, comprised of documentaries, foreign and independent films and recordings of symphonies, ballets and opera - many films that were named to various 2013 Top Ten lists and nominated for several Oscars and other film-festival awards. All films are show in high-definition and surround sound on the Ware Center's giant screen in Steinman Hall.

The season kicks off with the LOL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL on Tuesday, June 4. This unique festival is a compilation of nine hilarious short comedies, six from the U.S., two from Canada and one from Australia. The LOL Film Committee whittled the 600+ entries down to the best-of-the-best. In the style of traditional film festivals, the Ware Center audience will vote to determine which short comedy will win the "Audience Choice Award." Edgy adult humor is the norm, so this film is not for the easily offended. It's unrated, uncut, and unapologetic!

The second film of the Ware Center film series is THE MAGIC FLUTE. Mozart's classic opera has been brilliantly reimagined and adapted for the big-screen by actor, director and five time Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh. It's set against the backdrop of World War I. Opening with a breathtaking single shot in the trenches at the onset of battle, The Magic Flute is a stunning visual achievement and a brilliant marriage of opera and cinema. The film also features a new libretto by well-known English actor-writer-comedian Stephen Fry, with music arranged by James Conlon. The Ware Center will show this film on Sunday, June 9, one time only at 3 PM, along with other dozens of other theatres nationwide who are showing the film simultaneously.

On Wednesday, June 12 The Ware Center Film Series will show Where The Trail Ends. a documentary following the world's top freeride mountain bikers as they search for untraveled terrain around the globe, ultimately shaping the future of big mountain freeriding. This unparalleled story documents man's challenge of mother-nature showcased through a cast of colorful characters. This is some of the most progressive and ambitious mountain biking ever attempted resulting in an entertainment adventure unlike anything experienced before.
