The Glimmerglass Festival will hold GLIMMERATA!, the 2012 Spring Gala, on April 10 at The Metropolitan Club in Manhattan to benefit the company's Young Artists and Summer Internshipprograms. The evening will feature music, dinner and dancing, as well as performances by 2012 Glimmerglass Artist in Residence Eric Owens, David Daniels, Dwayne Croft, Sean Panikkar, Elizabeth Futral, Young Artist Dominick Rodriguez and more.
Cortland Rep Hosts TRIVIA NIGHT – PART TWO THE SEQUEL Fundraiser, 4/19

Thanks to the success of the first Trivia Night, Cortland Repertory Theatre has planned "Trivia Night: Part Two - The Sequel" for Thursday, April 19th as a fundraiser for the 2012 Season and for renovations to CRT Downtown. This event will be held in a new location, upstairs at the Dark Horse Tavern, 96 Main Street in Cortland. The doors will open at 6:30 PM, with the contest beginning at 7:00 PM.

The Skidmore College Department of Theater announces its Spring 2012 Mainstage production, AJAX IN IRAQ by Ellen McLaughlin, directed by Lary Opitz. Performances are April 13-15 and 19-22, 2012. All shows are in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater at 8:00pm except Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.
Nathan Louis Jackson’s BROKE-OLOGY Comes to KTC, 4/4-22

According to Ennis King, the older brother in Nathan Louis Jackson's Broke-ology that opens for previews at the Kitchen Theatre on April 4th and runs through April 22nd, he has developed a new scientific theory. As Ennis explains to his younger brother Malcolm, "Broke-ology…is a complex new science that examines two things. One, being broke. Two, staying alive despite your brokenness." Ennis and Malcolm are experts in broke-ology, and their situation is complicated by their aging father William's quickening decline. Poverty, the American dream and the ties that bind a family together are brought into focus in this new play.

Aaron Sorkin '83, award-winning screenwriter for films such as "A Few Good Men," 'The American President," "The Social Network" and "Moneyball," as well as TV shows including "Sports Night," "The West Wing," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and HBO's upcoming drama "The Newsroom,' will deliver the 2012 Commencement address at the joint ceremony for Syracuse University, Syracuse University College of Law and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) on Sunday, May 13, in the Carrier Dome.
