Doo-Wop Musical LIFE COULD BE A DREAM Wraps Up CRT's Summer Season

Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 46th annual summer season of professional live theatre with the regional premiere of the fun and funny doo-wop musical, "Life Could Be a Dream". Written and created by Roger Bean with musical arrangements by Roger Bean and Jon Newton, the show features some of the greatest pop hits of the 1950's and '60's. Performances will run for three weeks, from August 30 - September 16 with evening show times at 7:30.  Matinees are available on September 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th and 13th at 2:00 PM.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org.

When a young married couple find themselves unable to conceive a child, the husband's sister reluctantly agrees to act as a surrogate. Complications ensue in Michelle Carter's quirky comedy "How to Pray", coming to Catskill's Bridge Street Theatre for eight performances only September 14 - 24. Winner of the Susan Glaspell Contest for "Best New Play" and a PEN USA Award for Drama, this hilarious and wildly theatrical play received its world premiere at the Centenary Stage Company in Hackettstown, NJ in a production which featured actor Steven Patterson as a cat, a dog, a ninety-year-old cancer patient, and a Karaoke-singing pre-op transsexual soup kitchen worker. Mr. Patterson will be re-creating these roles in this new production, only the second the play has ever received.
