The Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre on the campus of D'Youville College, continues its 38th season with The Crucible by Arthur Miller.

The giant of the American theatre remains without question Arthur Miller. This 1953 Tony Award-winning dramatization of the Salem witch trials of 1692 was written as an allegory about McCarthyism, and is believed to be one of the reasons why Miller came under scrutiny in 1956, during the hearings of the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC).

The Kavinoky production uses a multi-media approach, with film and video design by Brian Milbrand, to re-imagine this terrifying parable of morality and intolerance.

Director Robert Waterhouse has assembled a cast of some of Buffalo's finest actors for this telling of a true American classic. It includes Christina Foster, Aleks Malejs, John Fredo, Adriano Gatto, Peter Palmisano, Christopher Evans, Gerry Maher, Daniel Greer, Eileen Dugan, Adam Yellen, David Lundy, Leah Berst, Shelby Ehrenreich, Emma English, Christine Turturo, and Mikyla Fisher.

Performances for this four week engagement (November 3rd-26th) will take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The gala opening night performance will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 7:30 p.m. and includes a catered wine reception with the cast following the performance. Tickets are $42.00, with discounts available to seniors, students, military, and groups. For tickets, call (716) 829-7668 or visit kavinokytheatre.com.
