Herman is a white man who has kept company with her for years. As their growing attraction accelerates into an affair, they must, of course, deal with the prejudices and wrath of ignorance in early 20th-century America.

The mission of Capital Repertory Theatre (theREP) is to create a meaningful theatre generated from an authentic link to the community. theREP serves as a safe house for the cultural lives of both artists and the community at large. theREP fosters the belief that the theatre must serve as an advocate and caretaker of the common threads that bind the American culture together in a world that is defined more and more by diversity. theREP strives to bring to life those works that speak to our common cultural heritage as well as new work that expands our perceptions of ourselves and explores new horizons of thought through the medium of theatre.
