San Antonio's original Latinx film festival returns this July 7th through 11th at the Historic Guadalupe Theater with a large Texas filmmaker presence. Featuring 80 films with 60% from the Lone Star State, CineFestival is the first of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center's programs to be held entirely in-person after the pandemic lockdowns. This year, the return of the festival is made possible with a $25,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Americans for the Arts today announced that Boston-based arts administrator Allentza Michel has been awarded the Jorge and Darlene Pérez Prize in Public Art & Civic Design, a first-of-its-kind national program established by the Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation. The award will include a cash stipend of $30,000, as well as additional support for Michel to participate in learning opportunities and discussion about her work with national leaders in the arts and other allied fields.

Along with other theatre companies around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Coyote to cancel its 2019-2020 season, and that closure has continued due to the uncertainty thus far in 2021. Kell was active in the 1960's San Francisco North Beach beat poetry scene, and the poetry and music scene in Albuquerque and Placitas in the 1970's. For years he published Desperado, a poetry anthology. In 1997 he moved into a small cabin south of Santa Fe on a friend's property where he lived for thirteen years until his death in 2011.

VACNJ works with two of the ECLC PRIDE groups each week. Led by art therapist Megan Tuttle, these groups create art to promote social and emotional well-being.

StoreyBoard entertainment went big with their production of CHESS THE MUSICAL. It’s a big cast giving big performances in a big setting, and backed by an orchestra and choir, the whole performance comes together to be an impressive production. The stage itself is small, but every bit jumps out in this brilliant production.
