The last six years was a whirlwind for the enchanting folk duo, Angus and Julia Stone, with the release of their sophomore record 'Down The Way' meeting rapturous acclaim and huge demand around the globe. Released in March 2010, 'Down The Way' debuted at #1 on Australia's ARIA Charts enjoying a remarkable 12 months on the ARIA Top 20 albums chart. It went on to pick up Album Of The Year at the 2010 ARIA Awards and includes the platinum-selling Single Of The Year 'Big Jet Plane', which was most notably voted No.1 on the 2011 annual Triple j Hottest 100. The album has hit triple platinum (210,000 ) sales in the Stones' home country, the only Australian artist album to reach this milestone on the current ARIA Top 50 albums chart. European audiences fell head over heels in love with 'Down The Way'. reaching platinum (100,000 ) album status in France, the album has been supported by the successful film sync with 'Big Jet Plane' for the movie, Les Emotifs Anonymes. In 2011, their music was selected for US television and film, as well the band was nominated for industry awards, like International Breakthrough Artist/Group of the Year at the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards in Canada. At the end of September 2011, MTV Iggy picked the band as a finalist for their 'Best New Band in the World' competition. The year ended with Angus and Julia's song, 'Love Will Take You' selected to feature on 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn ?Part 1' Original Motion Picture Soundtrack released on November 8, 2011. However, after an amazing run of sold-out worldwide shows and many awards, Angus and Julia Stone have decided at the beginning of 2012 to work on their own solo projects before they come together again for another Angus and Julia Stone record in the future. Julia Stone released her album 'By The Horns' worldwide in May, 2012 and will embark on a worldwide tour in support of the record.
