ABT at CMOM, a unique child engagement program designed for children (2 years of age) and families, will launch on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in the Children's Museum of Manhattan's "Let's Dance!" exhibit.

Led by ABT Certified ballet instructor Colleen Megley and CMOM early childhood educator Kellyn Thornburg, the program will teach ballet fundamentals, explore musicality and foster children's creativity and imagination through the world's most iconic ballets.

Designed to captivate both parents and children, ABT at CMOM aims to use the repertory of American Ballet Theatre to spark children's interest in ballet and prepare for a future of ballet enjoyment. The culminating session will be held in ABT's rehearsal studios.

The ten session program runs Tuesday mornings, April 10-June 12, 2018, from 9:30-10:30am at The Children's Museum of Manhattan located at the Tisch Building, 212 West 83rd Street.

The program fee is $600 for the semester, which includes full access to the museum following ballet class. Online registration is available now at www.cmom.org/classes.

About American Ballet Theatre

Recognized by an act of the United States Congress as America's National Ballet Company, American Ballet Theatre is one of the great dance companies in the world. Few ballet companies equal ABT for its combination of size, scope and outreach. Founded in 1940, ABT performs for more than 400,000 people annually. In keeping with its long-standing commitment to bringing the finest in dance to the widest possible audience, ABT has recently enjoyed triumphant successes with engagements in Hong Kong, Brisbane, Singapore, Oman and Paris.

About Children's Museum of Manhattan

The non-profit Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) -a citywide resource for children, families, and educators-creates experiences at the intersection of the arts, sciences, and humanities to help children thrive at home, at school, and in the community. Based on West 83rd Street, the Museum creates hands-on learning environments, programs, and curriculums built on evidence-based early research and the museum sciences. In addition to its commitment to delight and educate visitors, the Museum offers tools and strategies for parents, caregivers, and educators to help children become lifelong learners. Thousands more New Yorkers benefit from the Museum's offerings through its outreach programs at schools, Head Start centers, homeless shelters, libraries, and hospitals. In 2017, CMOM purchased 361 Central Park West. The new site is expected to open in late 2021. www.cmom.org
