Opening July 16th, the Provincetown Theater is proud to announce the Cape Cod premiere of Terrence McNally's beloved Broadway comedy Love! Valour! Compassion! for a summer-long run at the company's playhouse at 238 Bradford Street, Provincetown, MA 02657. "Frankly, I was stunned when I discovered McNally's masterpiece had never been produced on Cape Cod," says artistic director David Drake. "Long overdue, I'm thrilled and honored to breathe life into this vibrant American classic for our audiences this season."

The multi-talented musicians of The Fourth Wall are well-known to Winnipeg Fringe audiences. With sold-out shows at each of the past two festivals (2016, 2017), the trio is often nicknamed 'The Fruit Flies,' after their award-winning variety show Fruit Flies Like a Banana. Fringe fans may be surprised to learn that, rather than return with a new version of the Fruit Flies... format, The Fourth Wall will be bringing a new show to the 2018 festival, entitled Fallen From the Toy Box.

Centastage, Boston's launchpad for new theatrical works by New England playwrights, presents Noir Hamlet, a new full-length play in one act, from June 14 through 30 at the Plaza Black Box Theatre at Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street, Boston. Noir Hamlet is written by local playwright John Minigan and directed by Joe Antoun. The production is supported by The Bob Jolly Charitable Trust.

The Young Ensemble performs the Bessie Award-winning Naharin's Virus in the Ted Shawn Theatre at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, July 4-8. The work showcases the "superhumanly spry" (The New York Times) abilities of the Israel-based contemporary dance company, a second branch of Batsheva Dance Company. Batsheva and The Young Ensemble have gained international recognition for their use of the innovative movement research Gaga, developed by Artistic Director Ohad Naharin. With Gaga as their primary tool, The Young Ensemble lets go of the constraints of their technical training and unleashes the "free, exhilarating range of their movement" (The Guardian).

Shakespeare & Company presents August Strindberg's dark comedy Creditors, adapted by critically acclaimed playwright David Greig and directed by Nicole Ricciardi of last season's hit show 4000 Miles. In this production of what Strindberg calls his 'most mature work,' three characters must face their past, confronting love, debt, and deception. Performances run from July 19 - August 12 in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre.

ArtsEmerson presents the New England premiere of BORN FOR THIS - A NEW MUSICAL, based on the life story of Bebe Winans and his sister Cece Winans, offspring of a spiritual, musical Detroit family, who made a huge splash as teenagers on the Praise the Lord network of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker in the 1980s. With a book by Charles Randolph-Wright, Bebe Winans, and Lisa D'Amour, and original music and lyrics by Winans, the majority of which were written for the show, BORN FOR THIS offers a longitudinal view of the Winans journey from music biz hopeful, to fledgling performer, to breakout R&B star, and award-winning (six Grammys) artist. Under the slick direction of Randolph-Wright and music director Steven Jamail, the cast is extraordinary from top to bottom, with Donald Webber Jr. and Loren Lott giving star turns as Bebe and Cece.

New Historic Play CATO AND DOLLY Premieres At Boston's Old State House

The Bostonian Society announces the world premiere of Cato and Dolly, an all-new live play by Playwright Patrick Gabridge at Boston's historic Old State House, running Friday, July 6 - September 29, 2018. The new play, commissioned specifically for the Old State House's Through the Keyhole exhibition, reveals life behind the door of the Hancock House, Governor John Hancock's 18th century Beacon Hill home. In addition to viewing the historic door itself, on public view for the first time in decades, visitors to Through the Keyhole will experience the new 20-minute play which offers a glimpse of everyday life behind the Hancock door through the eyes of those who lived there: Cato Hancock, an enslaved person in the Hancock household and Dolly Hancock, John Hancock's wife and First Lady of Massachusetts. Gabridge's powerful site-specific play at the Old State House, Blood On The Snow, had a sold-out run in 2016-2017 and was called "electric and alive" by WGBH's Jared Bowen.

Leslie Jordan Cancels, Randy Rainbow Adds Shows For Crown & Anchor's 2018 Cabaret Series

Leslie Jordan's August 13 & 14 performances at the Crown & Anchor's Paramount Cabaret have been cancelled.  Jordan's commitments to a new FOX television series prevent him from travelling to Provincetown this summer.  Randy Rainbow, whose August 6 & 7 performances are nearing a sell-out, will add additional performances on August 13 & 14 in place of Jordan.
