Seth Sikes Returns To Provincetown This Month

Seth Sikes of whom NY Arts Review said, "may well be one of the saviors of the Great American Songbook" will return to Provincetown at The Crown & Anchor's Paramount Theatre on Tuesday, July 24 at 8PM. Sikes is one of New York's best known nightclub performers and his debut at the Paramount sold-out as has each of his appearances at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York.

With sold-out shows at each of the past two festivals (2016, 2017), the trio is often nicknamed 'The Fruit Flies,' after their award-winning variety show Fruit Flies Like a Banana. Fringe fans may be surprised to learn that, rather than return with a new version of the Fruit Flies... format, The Fourth Wall will be bringing a new show to the 2018 festival, entitled Fallen From the Toy Box.

Americana Theatre Company (ATC), Plymouth's professional theatre company, presents the musical theatre classic Man of La Mancha, starring Boston television personality Scott Wahle in the dual role of Don Quixote/Cervantes, from July 7 through 29, with performances weekly from Thursday through Sunday, at Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth. Man of La Mancha is written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. The production is directed by Michael Kirkland, with music direction by Nancy Sparklin.

Jacob's Pillow announces the participants of the 2018 National Dance Presenters' Forum, a three-day dance leadership development intensive held on its site in Western Massachusetts, July 12-14. Reinstated after over a decade and developed in collaboration with key partners from across the U.S., the immersive experience is framed as a catalytic opportunity for emerging dance presenters. The Forum will provide a learning environment for participants to discuss critical issues, strengthen curatorial practice, grow professional networks, and bolster support for the field of dance. The 2018 Forum planning committee selected 17 emerging dance presenters with diverse backgrounds as curators, cultural organizers, and service providers to artists and audiences, from a pool of over 71 applicants from 25 states and the District of Columbia.

Readers of all ages are invited to help bring the words of Frederick Douglass to life. Each volunteer reader will recite different sections of the 10,000-plus word address Douglass wrote during American slavery in 1852.
