Over 1300 local school children will attend one of 4 Field Trip Performances staged by CYT-NI during their 2 week run at the S.A. Kroc Community Theater.
Three times a year, CYT does 4 performances during the school week so that teachers and their students can see a show priced, produced and staged specifically for school children. Most CYT shows are based on core literature taught in the schools, creating an excellent classroom tie in. With every booking, the teacher receives a Study Guide which helps educate the kids about the show as well as about what to expect when attending attending a live theater performance.CYT-North Idaho's Great American Tall Tales has been a great draw for schools because it's storytelling at its best about many of American's first folk heroes. Davy Crockett, Paul Bunyan, Sally Ann Thunder, and John Henry are just some of the characters a group of students see come to life before their eyes after the museum closes for the day. Seventy-six local school children between the ages of 8-18 make up the cast.
