It’s almost like you’ve never heard of rushing a show or something.

For anyone curious: I’m here at 8am and am 26th in line.  Not sure if I’ll get in, seems unlikely but I’ll stick it out and update later.

Good luck and appreciate the report! Would love to hear how many total tickets they release if you’re able to find out !

I really hope you got it! I personally prefer the option to wait in line for a rush ticket rather than enter a digital lottery.

Update: Was not able to secure a rush ticket.  It looked like they ran out around 15-18 people in (hard to say how many of those people got 2 tickets vs 1). Asked the first person what time they got there and they said 3am.  For those looking to try for rush in the future this is definitely one you’re going to want to go early for.

After rush sold out they were offering partial view seats ranging from $99 to a whopping $299 (seems like $99 was mezz, and orchestra had $209 and $299). They also informed us that they had great seats still available starting at $699 to which everyone laughed.  I ended up getting the last single $99 seat which was row A of the mezzanine all the way on the left.  It was more than I wanted to pay, but did not want to try waiting in that rush line again so figured it was my best option.  Will try to update on view later!

oh please, don't be so dramatic...haha!!! I sat in "extreme side" orchestra rush seats for Rocky at this theater and the seats were fantastic! It's a steal for $49. You wanna pay hundreds?? Be my guest.

For what it's worth, I sat in a $99 1 seat from the end of Mezz Row E, on the other right side. Al things considered, it was a fairly full view, just missing a few moments in the upper corner, and almost nothing missing involving the principals. And for the price, without needing to wait for hours in the cold, it was a good purchase. Pre-shutdown I sat in a partial view seat, on the outer edge of the orchestra at Moulin Rouge, and missed 60% of the show.

The partial view seat was fine, definitely far off to the side and felt a bit left out of the action.  My seat was basically a glorified box seat, although a slightly better view than most of the box seats.  Didn’t miss too much, although a lot of the big dance numbers felt pretty cut off.  I’d say I saw 90% of the show, and for partial view that isn’t too terrible.  That being said was it worth $99?  Idk… I’d probably say it was a $60 seat but if it’s your cheapest option it’s not a terrible one.

I also think these seats may also be sold in advance, since the people next to me also paid $99 and I didn’t recognize them from the rush line.  So not sure if my seat was unsold stock or held for day of sales, but given that it’s the same price as those tickets bought in advance, it’s definitely worth just buying in advance if you can.  You’ll get a slightly better seat too.

I passed by the rush line about 30 minutes ago, and it didn't look too bad. Looked like maybe 15 people there at 9am. Again, who knows how early they got there, and how many of them will actually get tickets. But I was expecting it to be longer. It's also not nearly as cold this morning as it was earlier in the week.

Rushed this morning. Arrived at 5am and was 3rd in line. My friend was 5th in line. I got two tickets at O 40 and O 42 and my friend got one at B 16. I’m not sure how many people ended with the tickets as there was a bit of drama with people line cutting. Ticket is officially partial view but hopefully it won’t be too bad.

Also, word of mouth ain’t too hot so looks like many who were once interested and rethinking it now.  I have friends who don’t follow anything Broadway and they even heard THE MUSIC MAN with Hugh Jackman is “kinda boring.” Many were unaware that it already started.

Ended up sitting in B16. I saw most of the show I would say and was very close! It seemed like the single rush tickets were much closer to the stage than the double rush tickets. Totally worth $49 for the view I got. Also like 8 seats in the front row was empty but no where else was oddly enough.

Thinking of doing this when I get back to the city in January. Does anyone know how 2-show days work? Do they sell for both shows at the same time? Would I get to pick which show? Does that mean that there are more tickets available?

Thanks!

^I can't speak to this particular show, but I've done rush on 2-show days for many different shows over the years. And the answer to all of your questions is yes.

Occasionally some shows will implement a system whereby the theatre staff will divide the line into 2 - one for matinee, one for evening. If that's the case, you might not be able to choose once you get to the window. But I've only seen this done a few times.

If you're feeling bold and social, you can go down the line and take a tally of who's getting matinee and who's getting evening. That way, you can get a pretty good idea of your odds before the box office opens.

One time I was rushing Great Comet in its final week - the line was pretty long when I got there, but by a lucky coincidence, everyone in front of me was there for the evening performance, and I wanted the matinee. So I was effectively 1st in line for what I was purchasing.

Was wondering if anyone rushed this morning? With Sutton out was wondering if rush was any easier? Or what time I should get there.

I am thinking about going tomorrow and was wondering the same thing. Crossing my fingers that with Sutton out and a lot of tourists rethinking trips to NYC right now that it might be easier than normal. Anyone go yesterday or there this morning?

I bet I’ve met you.
I’m an old hardcore rusher.
“Jersey Boys” I’d usually arrive around 3ish. My mom loved the show. Tickets were hard to get. Loosing sleep and taking my mom to see “her boys” front row was always better than any other present.

long rush waits aren’t bad. they can be fun.

JBellan87 said: "Lots of people used to do that for Jersey Boys in like the first two years of the run (myself being one of theme), but it wasn't like that extreme. I'd get up at like 3 or 4, catch the train to get to the box office by 6. I'd assume there were some who did that for Rent as well. Only downside is if you didn't sleep enough prior to that. Me and my ex got up super early to rush Once, got the tickets, and during the show, I started doozing off (not falling asleep but closing my eyes alot to the point my ex like elbowed me)."

I agree. As long as I can sleep a bit after I obtain my ticket, it's generally always been a positive experience.

Chicago in 96-99ish was the best  security used to keep a list and give you a wristband w your place in line on it, once you got that free to nap or whatever

If anyone goes soon, please report back on your experience. I’m curious to know what the line is like for the first performance after a hiatus such as this. Also curious to know if they sell additional rush/discount tickets in the morning if they have more potential inventory available due to what appears to be slow sales this weekend

First people got there today at 6am. Second people got there at 7am. Most people arrived between 7:30-8:30. By the time the box office opened it was over easily 30 people in line. Not everyone got rush. I’d say maybe the first 20ish people did. After Rush there were apparently some $99 partial view seats.

if you plan on doing this it looks like you should arrive between 7-8

Rushed today and would say the snow definitely seemed to deter people! Arrived at 7:05 with a friend and we were second/third in line, with the first person only arriving 10 minutes earlier. Next person arrived at 7:30, and I would say most people arrived after 8.

There were 30 tickets being sold, and the person at the box office said it is usually around that number. Most people seemed to be buying two tickets. There were definitely people in line who didn't get tickets- at 9:45 the line had 35 people.

Seats are partial view far left, and seems like they were giving them out from front to back. I ended up with row C far left.
