Good you enjoyed but terrific, NOT more like Terrible! Panned on Netflx then Panned on Broadway - RIP Diana!"
I was there again today. My 6th time seeing the show. It's so amazing, a pity that people don't appreciate big musicals, with big dance numbers, terrific sets, great music and costumes. Jeanna wears about 38 outfits each show. I also ADORE when another girl shows up playing Diana in a signature outfit from Lady Di. It's such a joy. Let the haters hate. And to the critics: although I can't imagine how. I hope you're happy, right now!

6x? What a waste of money.

Hey, Robbie, some people like things you don’t and vice versa. Stop with the insufferable arrogance and just live your own life.

I wouldn't consider Diana's set "terrific." Though creative, I wanted more. I actually felt it was too box-y and made the stage look even smaller. The tiles on the floor didn't help either.

MrsSallyAdams said: "This is a chat board where folks discuss the Previews, openings and closings of Broadway shows. And, yes, when a Broadway show closes the artists lose their jobs. That’s been true since at least the 1800’s.
Meanwhile there’s one element of Diana I didn’t notice the critics comment on. The chorus repeatedly tells the audience that they’re the ones exploiting Diana by watching the show. Most pointedly in a servants quartet in Act Two. That meta-ness suggests a self awareness the show otherwise lacks. And seems to predict it’s own closing."
Yeah, that pointed commentary in the show stuck out to me... particularly since the rest of the show is musicalized tabloid, and now the creators and production have been leaning on "why can't we have fun with it?" as a defense. Indeed, seemed like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
1. I think blaming critics for this show's short run is flawed logic. There have been plenty of shows that have gotten panned by critics, and then gone on to have very successful runs. Most notably, Wicked got mixed reviews on Broadway. What Sutton said really hits the nail on the head. If a show sells well, it doesn't matter what the critics say. Conversely, it doesn't matter if critics give a show glowing reviews. If people don't buy tickets, the show will close.
2. Robbie, you are being incredibly rude here. Incredibly rude. It is perfectly fine for you to dislike this show, as many have. But you have every capability of doing so without trashing the people who do like it. That is just as bad as, if not worse than, cheering with glee when the show closes.
3. Muscle, I'm glad you saw the show again! I'll be seeing it three times this week, including both shows on Saturday, for a final count of four! Not quite as many as you, but close!
Bottom line: Don't lose sight of the cardinal rule: market > critics. And don't be a jerk.
saw this on sunday, and if you are with good friends and reasonably tipsy, it is such a fun time. if you have the means and can make it before it closes and be toasty, you won’t regret it 🤣 but truly, everyone is giving their all - had a blast :)

Well, if you have go drink before enjoying this show, maybe that should have been part of the advertising.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was there tonight (bought tickets when I read the closing notice) and I had an absolute blast. The act one finale alone…my heart was racing all through intermission. Sad I’ll only see this live once. This is a show I would totally see again on a whim if I had a free night and wanted to see something ridiculous and fun.
