Why is this show so understudy-prone?

They had much-discussed issues in prior runs, and it's obviously unusual for so many people to go on during previews on Broadway.

For something that sounds like an hour-long concert it sounds a bit surprising.

Interesting - I thought Mallory was the first cover for Parr?

This was my understanding of the covers, curious if anyone has more up-to-date info
Nicole - Aragon, Cleves
Courtney - Boleyn, Howard
Mallory - Seymour, Parr
"

Mallory was on all last week, maybe giving her a break? I don't think the order is set in stone.
"

It might also have to do what costumes are available since the new alternate costumes aren't ready yet (which kinds of blows my mind, to be honest, haha, but it is still previews).

Something to do with the way the music is written (pop heavy score), and the energy needed to sell it, 8 times a week? It’s not written in a traditional musical theatre way, so I can imagine it’s not easy on the chords. Most big musicians have a few days off between concerts.

When I went none of the queens came out. Granted it was a Sunday matinee so I wasn’t really surprised.

Stage doored this past Sunday evening. All six came out (Nicole, Andrea, Mallory, Britt, Sam, Anna). Security guard said they would come out but wouldn't be posing for photos since it was end of a long week and they wanted to get home. We could take pics of them signing just not ask for them to pose for selfies. It took about 25 minutes for them to come out and they all pretty much came out at once.

About to read through the thread because I'm EXTREMELY curious what y'all thought about this.

I surprisingly liked the show. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate it. The music was corny imo, but it does the job and I'm glad something like this is on Broadway.

Abby Mueller's voice is TREMENDOUS. Her song was by far the best. The other ladies did the best they could, with those pop songs trying so hard to be cool.

I can't help but wonder how this will be looked at for the Tonys. Like, I wonder if traditional voters will even see it as a true musical. I think it proves itself as such towards the end, but most of it is a full on concert. Clever show tbh.

Also, standing room for this show is a true steal. $45, perfect view, and the show is only 80 minutes. Do it if you haven't seen the show.

Totally agree about Abby. I left thinking so much more about her than the others. The talent in the Mueller family is astounding.

Question: I was just watching this video of all the current casts of Six from across the world sing the opening number. At the end some fan videos are included, and Jerry Mitchell appears singing along. Does anyone know if he worked on the Broadway production? I wouldn't be surprised if with this being a relatively new and young production team if he supervised the transfer.
