I am a massive theatre fan (obviously). I love acting as well as set design and at some point in my life I want to direct so I pretty much love every aspect of theatre.
As other posters have said the big group numbers: Zero to Hero, Great Bolts of Thunder and A Star is Born are jaw dropping. The energy coming from the stage is palpable. I thought Jelani was great and his big emotional scene was incredibly moving. Phil’s reprise of One Last Hope/Go the Distance was the new highlight for me. I thought it was a super beautiful moment for James (who is excellently cast). I loved Roger as Had

So scenic design: Beetlejuice has a really cool design. The way the house transformed was great. The collaboration between projections and scenic to make the house move was awesome. However whenever we weren’t in the main house set, the design felt compromised. The drops were pretty but when they were on the roof or in the attic it felt less thought through.
Hadestown effectively boiled down their design to two striking looks that transformed brilliantly and simply without getting in t

I saw it last night and loved it. I thought the minimal set was perfect. Between the sets, costumes and the Yiddish, it really felt like you were watching a snippet of this distant community’s lives.

I’ve been thinking Chant would be a good Hadestown number. It features all five of the leads and introduces many of the themes of the show. I also love the way that number is structured.
However wouldn’t be surprised if it was a medley of Living it Up and Wait for Me

While I’m happy that they’re working hard to make it real good it pains me so much to have to wait for the full recording. I saw the show on Friday and have been listening to the off broadway recording constantly.

11 people got tickets tonight (I know as I was the 11th person). I arrived at 6:50 ish and got lucky.

I honestly think people calling Jones the weak link saw a different show than I did. I found her mesmerizing. She made different choices than your average Laurey but I thought it was fantastic.

I don’t know about you all, but when I saw it at St Anne’s I thought this People will Say We’re in Love was full of sexual desire and love. After and entire act actively pretending to push each other away, they finally have a quiet but intense moment together.

You say yourself that the original was present for a 1943 audience. This is for a 2019 audience. Obviously the entire view of our country has changed.

Oh yes, my friend and I saw that as a total homoerotic moment and nothing less."
One of the things I love about the casting is that neither of them are particularly brutish. Where as Shuler and Hugh in the Uk revival are both in their own ways very stereotypically “masculine” &l

But it is NOTbeing developed for Broadway. They are taking a different route with this one. That’s all I can say! Official announcement should be coming any day now though!"

I love the idea of a Disney music revue. Better developed than On the Record.
A Director said: "The Camelot score is pretty good, but the book is so-so. It isn't any interesting show. LCT should take a risk and do a new musical on their big stage."
Frankly I think the book should be completely rewritten. Give Guinevere some more agency, either make Mordred interesting or completely delete him, Merlin is also useless as far as I am concerned in the current book.
So after an annoying start (including FOX not working and me missing Tune Up 1 and most of Rent, I left enjoying it. Angel was awful through and through which definitely hurt the first half between You Okay Honey and Today 4 U being brought waaaay down. I thought Mimi was very good and got better throughout the show. Will I was the first moment where I actually got sucked in, it was truly beautiful. The set was stunning but I think the camera work would have vastly improved if they had a seco
