One scenario I read this morning has it that Trump would make the announcement on the night the Democratic nominee accepts the nomination at the National Convention in July. To try to steal the thunder, of course, and to bring the attention back to him.
Take heart Patriots because voter turnout in the Commonwealth of Virginia (VA) nearly doubled the 2016 tally, for a primary. That's HUGE. The traditional Democrat blocs are fired up and every unaffiliated voter I know is willing to join arms with members of Biden's coalition. Voter turnout across the board will be off the chain come November. Hopefully, the mythical youth vote will put in an appearance.
The nomination is attainable & the general election winnable by Biden's coalition. We have an impeached president whose favorability has never cracked 50%. Trump has not expanded his base. Biden's coalition has knocked him back on his heels.
Do the right thing Dems so that we Indies can join you in arms in November!
I will vote for Biden, but he offers almost nothing to millennials. It’s 100% fair to blame millennials who don’t vote because I would do the same. But, to play devils advocate, why vote for a candidate who doesn’t support any of the policies that they want to see in government? Let alone watch yet another presidential campaign full of investigations? Let alone said they would run for the US senate s week ago and said they would run with a Republican?
The general elections will be all Benghazi again except it’ll be Burisma, I’m just not convinced enough Americans have flipped on trump to go for Joe, yet millennials ain’t voting for Bernie because they don’t feel their vote matters. Ugh I just think we’re screwed. I hope Bernie chooses Warren as a VP if he ends up with the nomination, we NEED her to debate the trump administration.
Do millenials care about having clean water and air and the threat of global warming and a president who will work to address it with scientists and other world leaders instead of claiming it's a hoax cause Sean Hannity told him that? Do millenials care about a woman's right to choose and other personal liberties that could be wiped away after another 4 years of Trump's judicial appointments? RBG can't hold out forever. Do millenials care about a president who respects the role immigrants have played in building this country and would work to treat them fairly and ensure a reasonal path to citizenship for those deserving instead of labeling them all terrorists and rapists and keeping their children in cages cause "the cruelty is the point"? Do millenials care about a president who has evolved his view and would be by most indications supportive of gay rights instead of a president whose next in command believes it's an illness that can be prayed away? Do millenials care about preserving our wilderness instead of mining it for all it's worth? Do millenials care about a president who by all indications is trusted by most of the African American community and can play a huge role in improving race relations and social justice instead of a president who believes the more hatred, fear and conflict he can generate between and among various groups, the better it is for him and his agenda? I could list another 10 things that I would hope would give millenials a sense that there's something in it for them if Biden is the Democratic noiminee even if they don't get free tuition and medicare for all. It would be truly disappointing if they can't even see that. I want to give them more credit than that.
It's not fair to lay the blame of the spread of the new virus at Trump's feet, but his administration's response is disturbing. Thank goodness for the state health officials right now. Today, Maryland reported its first three confirmed cases.
Biden has been a gaffe machine for years even when he was well within the age you'd allow to serve, He's not senile and it's not something that just happened recently as he got older. It's part of who he is. People need to just get over it already. He's not going to push the nuclear button by mistake thinking he's calling for a diet Coke. (Nor is he either A) clinically obese or B) 5 months removed from a heart attack and backtracking from a promise to release his full medical records).

We should be able to do better than all of these candidates. That's the disheartening part to me. Would I take Biden over Trump? Absolutely but that's not exactly a high bar and it really doesn't make the whole situation any better when these candidates are overall still rather terrible to me.

It is what it is. Perhaps they're not perfect but they're good a damn nuff for this cycle. And "booksmarts" do not always translate into a viable candidate. Jim Clyburn is no Rhodes Scholar but he's a helluva politico who knows how to win elections and understands congressional sausage-making like nobody's business. And House doyenne Nancy Pelosi knows how to whip those votes...it's an art which takes time to master. It's an open secret that it's a real struggle for a couple of the Senators in the race to get along with their peers on both sides of the aisle, especially for Bernie.

They don't have to be scholars on every topic or the most gifted speaker in the world (although that helps). They're surrounded by the best experts in the world in each area of expertise. They have trusted aides and advisors. They need to be able to assimilate the information given, evaluate the choices and make the right decision with intelligence and humanity. They also need to have enough gravitas to look Putin in the eye and say don't f*ck with us and have him believe they mean it. Biden can do that. Plus, when you look at how being president ages a person, the immense pressure a president is constantly under, many people that might be good at it don't want any part of it. Of course, when you're like Trump and don't give a damn about anyone or anything but yourself and are in it only for the "trappings" of the office, it makes the job a lot easier.
Well put 2 back Uncle Charlie, they should be jumping in with both feet. I believe they will. I think there are a lot of Independents who are embarrassed about Dump and like the idea of an innocuous Uncle Joe.
Was able to attend the bernie rally in grant park yesterday. What a fantastic reminder that Bernie has and will have the support of the people come November :’ )

If they hold to schedule, the next debate will be on March 15th."
With only two people on the debate stage, Biden will really be exposed as a senile old man. I will be shocked if Bernie does not mop the floor with him.

You've adopted the Trump strategy of pray for Bernie as his opponent rather well. Just like a good little Trumpster. Well done, sir. Of course, Trump never stumbles over words. Not at all.

Really. You think Biden is just making a gaffe on occasion and does not have any mental issues - ok. Actually, I think Bernie would do better against Trump than Biden. Whether you agree with him or not, at least he is true to his beliefs and his supporters have energy. Seriously, you think Biden is going to inspire anyone to vote for him, give me a break. The only thing he has going for him is Trump hatred and Democrats better hope that is enough. Sure Trump and every politician will makes gaffes but nobody comes close to Biden and some of his recent ones should concern people. Will not even go back years for his greatest hits like calling Obama "clean" -lol
1) Biden asks for support for his US Senate bid
2) Biden calls Chris Wallace "Chuck" as in Chuck Todd
3) Biden mistakes his sister for his wife.
4) Biden says 150 million people have been killed by gun violence in US since 2007
5) Biden says he worked on climate treaty with leader who had been dead for 20 years.
6) Biden said he was arrested in South Africa in support of Mandela.
7) Biden forgets the words of the Declaration Of Independence.
Biden asks people to come out and vote on "Super Thursday".
9) Biden said his son Beau was Attorney General Of The United States.
10) Biden has not been sure where he actually was on several occasions.

"Donald Trump, at a breakfast with African-American supporters marking the start of African-American History Month, described famed 19th century abolitionist Frederick Douglass as "an example of somebody who's done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more."
You really want me to counter every one Biden had with one of Trump's? Trump's in India a few weeks ago and he couldn't even pronounce namaste properly. I mean c'mon. Maybe your argument is Trump is dumb as a pile of bricks but at least he's not as forgetful as Joe. Strong argument there. Trump appears very intent on propping Bernie up as the guy he'd like to face cause he realizes as most do that the centrist Democrats who slid over to Trump in 2016 and gave Trump a narrow victory in the Midwest battleground states that won him the election and the moderate Republicans who are disgusted by Trump can very likely be slid over to Biden but not to a far left wing Democratic Socialist like Bernie. And yeah, I think Biden will inspire people to vote for him because right now, they want someone with his heart in the right place who will likely govern with decency and integrity and most of all, they want the insanity of the last 3+ years to stop and want the country to return to the normalcy of having a President of the United States whose daily comments don't embarrass them and make them sick to their stomach. And quite honestly, a Trumpster providing his analysis of who'd be a stronger Democratic candidate is as meaningful to me as the pile of dog poop I narrowly avoided stepping in on the way home tonight. You might just want to sit this one out Hoss, and see who shows up to stand across from Trump on the debate stage in the fall.
The texts and emails I received from Dems and Indies over 60 yesterday skew towards Biden. This is anecdotal of course. Fear gripped many of them as they were hit by the twin whammies of a Coronavirus menace and plummeting stock/oil prices. Those concerns were captured perfectly in a piece by Niv Elis of The Hill yesterday.
