It was far from a disaster.  It wasn't perfect, no - but it had legs and MANY enjoyed the hell out of it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Aside from Burstein, I thought this needed a complete cast overhaul. Given Toulouse-Lautrec's real history, I thought it would be more compelling if they really thought outside-the-box and gave this opportunity to an actor who resembled his stature, which given his aristocratic background, is what led him to seek solace in Montmartre.

I always felt the Schubert was perfect for this. You need a small ish theatre for the immersion of the show which is top notch, but also need the back space since the show itself is big. I think the Hirschfield is the best choice based on what's available. I really think taking the first 3-4 rows out of the mezz will make sight lines better too for the people in the mezzanine

I'm glad it's transferring! I saw the show in Boston and with no cast changes I'll wait until after opening to see the show. I have a feeling there will be discounts in fall 2019.

Couldn't agree more. This was a disaster in Boston. Here's hoping they do the necessary work to make it better.

A "disaster?" Girl, please...

I really don't mean this question to be judgmental cause it's not, but if this show was a "disaster" what shows do you enjoy? It wasn't perfect but man if this was a disaster to you I'm not sure what theatre you'd enjoy

Aaron Tveit may have his fans, but he is NOT a box office attraction.  The show will sell tickets whether it is Tveit or not.

The thing I find interesting is that they are only going to sell 4 tickets per customer.  Either they have done the research to know there is going to be explosive demand; or they are trying to create demand by making it hard to get tickets.  (Clearly, part of this is about combatting scalpers, but they are not an official monster hit quite yet).  I hope it becomes one, because I think it was one of the most exhilarating shows I have ever seen, flaws and all.

The majority of the people really enjoy the show (as is), but there are a few people (particularly on this message board) who are very vocal about their hatred for the show.

He's not Bette Midler, but he has his following.  The people in stage door line at the Colonial that wrapped around the block weren't there for Danny Burnstein.  But I agree the show will sell with or without Aaron.  I'm just saying it doesn't hurt to have him help sell more tickets.

Can anyone help with a link to register for the Verified Fan pre-sale? I’ve clicked on highlighted links in the BWW article and nothing is taking me there. THANK YOU! :)

Just go to their website https://moulinrougemusical.com, they're not a Ticketmaster venue so it's just a fan pre-sale.

Done! Thank you. :) Will also keep an eye out on Ticketmaster. This works brilliantly as I wanted to go to NYC again next summer, this time to celebrate my Big #60 birthday. Looks like “Beetlejuice” and “Moulin Rouge” will be at the top of my list. Very excited!!!

Oh hey birthday twin!

Anyways I'm so happy about this. I absolutely loved it in Boston. Danny Burstein is just so damn good in everything he does.

i've got 99 problems and a revival of parade would solve like 94 of them

This absolutely made my day. I fell in love with this show the second the lights went down at the Emerson Colonial and I cannot wait for June 28th.

Does anyone have a link to the ticketmaster page so I can browse the date/time/pricing?

For those who signed up for the fan presale, did you receive a code right away or is there a separate time when they’re expected to be emailed out?

Did not get a code, just an email to “Please Confirm Subscription”. Since the pre-sale starts on the 21st, I’d expect those picked will receive a confirmation code the day prior.

The email I received said the code would be mailed out before 12pm EST on 11/21.

I don't think the show is a mess, but there's a good amount of room for improvement.  The opening and closing should be reworked and the tone of the show is uneven at times.   Otherwise, its not in terrible shape.

No massive problems to fix, just tweek a bit here and there and it will be ready.  So happy to see both Aaron and Karen again, this show is incredible.
