Telecharge's website is always crashing. This morning it's died again. Why do producers keep using this unreliable, slow and outdated site for ticketing. Get it together Telecharge!

The Shubert Organization owns Telecharge, so any show playing in one of their houses will only be available through them. The shows' producers don't have a say in the matter. That's why.
It is literally the worst. I lost out on front row cheap tickets because the website was down RIGHT when i was about to buy them, and someone used a third party website to buy them.
Trying to buy Carousel tickets on there is the worst. Every time I try and go for the offer seats, I get this popup:
"You are already in process of shopping/ buying a product or an offer in another window or tab. Please leave the offer in order to proceed with a new product."
Yeah, I never thought I'd say this, but I much prefer buying tickets for shows at Nederlander or Jujamcyn houses, because I can avoid using Telecharge. It really has become the worst.
You guys must never have had to exchange or return tickets. Ticketmaster rules exchanges with an iron fist of apathy. Telecharge are sweethearts about exchanges and returns. I MUCH prefer Telecharge. I always think twice about buying tickets for a Ticketmaster show.
My only experience with an exchange for Ticketmaster was asking if they could switch my War Paint/Groundhog Day tickets around so I could catch Andy Karl at the 8pm performance (this was when he just injured himself). Surprisingly, they happily complied. I've never tried in a situation where you blatantly break their terms though (e.g., you change your mind). Telecharge have also been good to me to swap non-premium for premium tickets for the same performance.
But in terms of technology, I find Ticketmaster to be more reliable than Telecharge.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I prefer Telecharge if only because you can search your price point over a period of time for a specific evening's performance (for example, looking for any Saturday night performance with a $59 ticket).
I always cringe when I find out a show I want to see is selling on Telecharge. The app is so horrible, and the website sucks, it's always having issues, and it didn't accept my cc after one time they had to refund me. They said it was a "software" issue and then never followed up. I have never been able to buy tickets from my IP address again. It's truly the absolute WORST.
While I don't love other, I would gladly use Telecharge any day instead of Ticketmaster. I find TM harder to navigate on my computer and it seems their fees are higher. (They might not be and maybe I'm just more bitter about them. Ha.)
Other than having my IP address flagged several times, as a result of overzealous searching for DEH tickets, I have few problems with Telecharge. Sure, the website is down sometimes, but that has never stopped me from buying tickets when I've needed to, without contacting them by phone. Also, whenever I've called them about a customer service issue, they've always been very easy to deal with. Actually, I don't have many problems with Ticketmaster either, and their customer service has been equally accommodating. The only bad thing about Ticketmaster is the inability to buy a single seat online when you're leaving a single seat stranded. Very annoying.
Thank you all for taking the time to write about your experiences with our site. This morning our technical team needed to perform a reboot on one of our online servers in order to resolve the site error some of you may have received. We apologize for this inconvenience and encourage anyone who is still experiencing issues accessing our site to reach out to us at feedback@telecharge.com.
I have never had a bad Telecharge website experience and find their staff very helpful with refunds and exchanges ... far easier to deal with than Ticketmaster.

I had totally different experiences with both companies. Ticketmaster was a sweetheart to me and agreed to exchange my ticket as long as it was at the same or higher price than my original one. Telecharge had me waste hours on hold just to hear "I'm sorry but there's nothing we can do."
99% of the time, I've had great experiences through telecharge. I honestly prefer them over Ticketmaster. Their customer service is the best and almost always are able to offer a ticket exchange.

Sounds like they have pretty loose restrictions if you only got flagged several times.

Same here. While I agree that the site can be buggy at times, I've never had a bad customer service experience with Telecharge and that's worth more to me than any technical stability advantage that Ticketmaster might have. I also much prefer Telecharge's ticket search, selection, and purchase functionality over that of Ticketmaster.

I've been trying for 3 weeks to upgrade my seats with Ticketmaster (for the same performance) of Angels in America and I get the runaround every time I try. Yet there are frequent posts in the Angels thread about other people doing the same thing. Driving me crazy.
