Or how in ANY way this is different then the Bittler LOSERS thread???
And what, exactly, about the lights for DEH made you think it should have won? While I don't think there was anything lacking with the lights, I can't remember a single memorable thing about them.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I personally found the way in which Bette went about giving her speech to be extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. That plus the awful performance that they put out made me very upset with the way Hello Dolly has been handling their public relations throughout the entire season. Just because they don't necessarily NEED to advertise the show because they know people are going to see it, doesn't mean that they should put in absolutely no effort whatsoever.

I'm sure David Hyde Pierce would be thrilled to hear all about how little effort was put into his performance. If you get the chance you should let him know.
And I'm bitter about your spelling of "coreography " and about your failure to use capital letters (except on rare occasions, one of which was the capital C in "coreography"
By the way, how did you do that given autocorrect? I found that I had to make quite the effort.

You make sure and tell DHP that you didn't like his performance, since it made you so upset. Perhaps you can take over the show and show him how it should be done?

I suspect the Broadway community was fine with that particular form of "disrespect". But how was it unprofessional? Is there a form of acceptance speech in her contract attached as an exhibit? Or a morals clause specific to awards acceptance speeches? Professionally, her speech was exactly what anyone familiar with her career would expect.

Unfortunately, even if you are the most talented performer, you can't make War Paint's dinosaurs wave through a window.
