"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The article isn't fake it was from the press in Into the Woods but the Wicked movie will not be out in 2016, I'd say 2018 at the earliest to fit in with the 15th anniversary.

I doubt Hollywood has any interest in whether anything times with a Broadway anniversary, since more people will see the Wicked movie than ever see the show.

That post was edited on Oct. 27. The post is on a website that hosts fans blogging about movies. The blogger may have changed something there but there are no new sources for the blogger's information and there is no news that has changed since January 2015. The news then from the producer was that 2016 was a loose goal but that they probably wouldn't have it ready for 2016. He said they'll make the film someday but wouldn't commit to any sort of firm timeline.

Also confirmed: Taylor Swift has been signed for Galinda/Glinda and Shia LaBeouf as Fiyero. Negotiations still underway for Caitlyn Jenner to cast as Madame Morrible. More to follow.
