When it made it to 50 performances, BWW should have posted an article, "WITH OVER 50 PERFORMANCES, SOUL DOCTOR SHOCKS US ALL AND OUTRUNS BETTER SHOWS THAT RAN LESS."
It's news. Them not saying it in the headline wouldn't have changed anything. Do you think those involved don't know the "number"? Grow up. It's pretty common to put the number (or the number it will have achieved by closing) in the title.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Oh, BWW, you never fail to look like you have no interest in credible reporting/journalism. That headline is so sensational and absurd.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
What will people do with all their newfound free time now that they won't have to spend it posting comment after comment each week asking how it's still running and why it hasn't closed yet.
They'll switch to the new lowest grossing show. Why would you expect anything different. (But to be honest, people seldom talked about this except when numbers were released.)

While I didn't care for the show, I have to commend everyone involved. They gave it there. They stuck behind what they believed in.
So often in this business people can be such sheep. The people involved with the show, especially the producers, stuck by a property they believed in and tried with everything to give it a chance.
If we had more people this we'd see a lot more new and exciting work.
I am sad to see Soul Doctor close, there was a lot of love and dedication behind it and the cast performed with such joy. Even if you weren't into the music the spirit was infectious. I also developed an addiction to honey cake which I don't mind at all!
