If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Tony Yazbeck posted "We were standing in for rehearsal for the tour this morning. Part of our contracts...but yes, we have a great cast with great understudies."
That kind of stinks for the people seeing that show. I know there are no guarantees but I have never seen a show with that many leads missing in one performance.
Not to the same extent, but Blake Bashoff and Kyle Riabko (sp?) got pulled from a GAD of their performance of Spring Awakening to rehearse with the tour...including thier final weekend on b'way.

I saw the pictures of the show and it looked pretty cool. It looks like Terra came back early to cover, and the other five were understudies (would've loved to see Donna Marie as Mama).
What I don't get is why they would pull leads for tour rehearsals. Couldn't they have just used their understudies?
"Hey little girls, look at all the men in shiny shirts and no wives!" - Jackie Hoffman, Xanadu, 19 Feb 2008
- Terra C. MacLeod can back early and covered Velma. - Brian O'Brian covered Billy. David Kent(swing) then covered Fred Casely. - Melissa Rae Mahon covered Roxie. Jennifer Dunne(swing) then covered Go-To-Hell-Kitty. - Donna Marie Asbury covered Mama. Sharon Moore(swing) then covered June. - Jeff Loeffelholz covered Mary Sunshine. - Jason Patrick Sands covered Amos. Brian Spitulnik(swing) then covered The Judge.
The u/s board looked like West Side Story's daily u/s board.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
So legit every single person in the cast was on stage. There were no swings left to cover anyone in the case of a last-minute or in-performance illness or injury. Hilarious.
B) honestly terra as Velma and Melissa as Roxie and Donna Marie as Mama are vast improvements over amra as Velma, shayne as Roxie and carol as mama IMO
Actually, Adam Zotovich covered as "Amos". He did that when I saw the show in March. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
that was the only one I couldn't remember. was going by playbillvault.com and Sands' is the only Amos u/s listed.

Along with the fact that that they will probably never have a performance with those actors moving up again. That's really cool

Jason Patrick Sands is shirtless enough when he does his regular role. He is quite appealing. from RC in Austin, Texas
