When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Its still citing the Marquis as its theater (unless this isn't newly released). Can we put the rumors to rest???
I like it, especially the yellow....makes it unique.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Love this artwork but WHY does Ricky Martin have top billing? Che's a big role but it's definitely supporting and not as big as Eva...I understand name/star power though.
Maybe the three top-billed actors will rotate the roles. I'm sure Cerveris will make a divine Eva.

Why would we be "unnerved" that Che gets top billing?
Ricky Martin is the only name that will sell tickets to anyone outside the theatre community. Of course he's going to be the first name!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The 'press release' on their website was apparently written on August 20th. Quite a while ago and before the rumours of finding another theatre started. So I don't think we can be sure those rumours are false, yet!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Martin's name might be first - but being weird, I like the balance of having Roger's name flanked by a man on each side. You can kind of imagine that hers will be in a different colour on the marquee so it stands out...
Agreed that Ricky's the one who's going to sell tickets.

I love it!! I had almost forgotten that Michael Cerveris was Juan! I just hope Rodger's vocals have improved from the London recording.

I would hardly say Che is a supporting role. He is most definitely a lead. He serves, more or less, as the narrator. The story is told through his eyes. He is in damn near every scene, if not singing, then at least observing. Why would he not get top billing?
