It isn’t the sperm oil that the wet deck is about. The sperm oil is just in buckets that the audience volunteers deal with. The wet deck is for water blown out of the whales’ blow holes. Unless something has changed. When I went, the wet deck didn’t get wet, but I’ve heard they’ve added more since.

The song they sing with the audience sitting on the floor could totally be eliminated and wouldn't cost a thing plot-wise."
While I agree that cutting the audience participation would be a good idea and save AT LEAST 5-7 minutes, probably more, I disagree that A Squ

Thanks! I was going to aim for 8, but maybe i will sleep in a little extra and shoot for closer to 9.
Obviously I would prefer better seats, but I don’t go into rush expecting great seats. I don’t follow the Waitress rush info, obviously, so any advice is welcome.

I got the ART newsletter the other day, which included interviews with the creative team and for me provided some valuable context for reconciling what I'm reading in this thread. For example, it's discussed how Moby Dick itself is somewhat rambling and at times seemingly lacks focus (paraphrasing here) and contains numerous writing styles - including a chapter written as a play.”
I’m truly amazed to see so many people having such a strong dislike for part three. I thought part three was gorgeous and possibly my favorite part of the night.
Just got back from seeing it tonight, and overall I absolutely loved it.
Some quick thoughts: Part one had some nice songs, but I didn’t really feel invested until Part Two.
The audience participation in Part two was unnecessary and really just kind of distracting and slowed things down. A Squeeze of the Hand is such a beautiful song, but it kind of lost some power as people were watching and reacting to the audience members participating onstage.
Yeah, when I saw it I was wondering why they didn’t have that camcorder connected to the projection screen for the music videos. I didn’t love having the Irish Sea back there the whole time, and the waves only moved during the scenes that actually took place by the water, it didn’t really work for me aesthetically.
Agreed, I loved the ending. I didn’t feel the need for a big encore medley, and that didn’t even occur to me until ZackSabbath mentioned it, but I don’t think it is missing that at all.

Just saw tonight’s performance. I thought the first act was good and the second very good. I was surprised to see someone comment that they thought Zara Devlin (Raphina) wasn’t much of a singer as her songs were absolute highlights for me.

Wow...that's so interesting that they added a song that late into the run! Do you know how much longer it ran after that song was added?"

Website says box office opens different times depending if it's a 1PM matinee (box office opens at 10AM) or 2PM matinee (box office opens at 12PM). So without knowing your show time, you either got there right as they opened and or 2 hours in advance. Just wanted to clarify, TIA!"

My post two up was from the Sunday matinee two weeks ago.
