I appreciate the honesty. She knows it better to leave now than stay any longer and risk hating the job. Eight shows a week is not easy, and the vocal demands of that role are challenging. I'd rather she leave and find an exciting new project than stay in the show for years becoming exceedingly wooden.
The comment about backstage tours made me actually laugh out loud.
I love Idina, but struggled with this play when it was off-Broadway. Happy for her commitment to new material, but interested to see some reviews when it opens in LA.

So I have a feeling that featured role will likely be filled by a person of color, along with members of the ensemble. I can’t think of any recent Broadway show where race or ethnicity was immaterial that totally lacked diversity."

I hope they do play around with some of them. I thought Craig sounded great, but there were some jarring moments in group numbers that really took me out of it. That “really ABOUTTTTTT” in the opening isn’t great. Maybe Lenk could just do it down the octave.

While not a traditional beefcake, Matt Doyle is extremely fit - abs and all.

I haven’t seen the show yet, but I thought there was a big BAD ROMANCE number that opened the second act. Is it part of a sequence?
I'm probably in the minority, but I like the IF/THEN score. Any issues I have with the show fall on the book/lyrics. Kitt working with Korie and Lapine is a vast improvement from previous collaborators.

With all these announcements, you gotta imagine Company will have to announce soon. Also, if this is nominated for Best Musical, would it be the first Vivian Beaumont musical since Contact?"
Someone mentioned Betsy Wolfe in CAROUSEL - didn't we all but confirm she was dropped from the production due to WAITRESS conflicts? Rudin was holding the month-long workshop at the same time that the WAITRESS producers wanted Wolfe to rehearse with Jason Mraz.
I adore Michelle Williams, but there would need to be some serious changes of keys.
Not sure if there was ever any weight to the Hathaway rumor, but there's no reason she couldn't have her child and do the production in the spring. Amber Gray did the London production of HADESTOWN very soon after giving birth.
