I always like to see how these various celebrities do in this role. To be honest, I haven't seen one celebrity Roxie that was anything spectacular, but some of the stunt-casting in 'Cabaret' turned out to be very good.

The best 'stunt' casting in that role is still Sandy Duncan. I think she came in before it could be deemed stunt casting, though. Her Roxie was funny, sexy, and she could sing/dance the part. Brilliant.
I still enjoyed Jennifer Holliday as Mama Morton too
Paige Davis and Bebe Neuwirth in my mind are the two Roxies that understood the role more than any of the other "stunt casting" actresses used.
Paige and Bebe were in other companies of Chicago before playing Roxie.
Also, when Chita Rivera toured in the late '90's as Roxie, I heard she brought a side of the character that only Gwen Verdon knew how to play her.
Dear God, did anyone see Lisa Rinna? I dont care what people say, but I have never wanted to leave a show faster in my life.
I got the honour of seeing the last tour of Chicago when it came through Toronto in 2006. And Brenda Braxton, and Bianca Marroquin were the leads. They both we playing them on Broadway, and came onto the tour, then back to NY.

Bway2- You are obviously defyinggravity07. Your avatar used to be about her and so did your headline thing below your posts. It said Lindsay Roginski is amazing.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.

I can not look at Lisa Rinna's face, it makes me sick.
