Sometimes it takes a village, but here, it just takes two very talented actors to bring a village to life. The results are a thoroughly entertaining acting tour-de-force.
DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE to Open 2/28 at Vagabond Theatre
by BWW News Desk - February 11, 2014
A new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde opens February 28 at the Vagabond Theatre and runs through March 30. Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, and directed by John W. Ford, this is a smart, sexy, tense and suspenseful new take on Stevenson's look at the evil that lurks in the hearts of men--it is definitely not your grandfather's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Hatcher's direct first-person narrative doesn't focus on the fantastical, but on the human and on the cost of not only isolating and distilling our basest urges--revenge, lust, dominance, survival--but of un-stoppering the vial.
