North/South Consonance, Inc. continues its 39th season on Tuesday evening June 4 when the North/South Consonance Ensemble under the direction of Max Lifchitz introduces music by composers hailing from Brazil, Mexico and throughout the US.

 Palo Alto Players closes its 2018-19 season with the British farce ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, a hilarious mash-up of mistaken identities, slapstick, and song based on the classic comedy, The Servant of Two Masters.

 Scottsdale Arts' new Collaborative Community Engagement Program (CCEP) initiative encourages local artists to submit artistic proposals for development. Phase one of the program is now open for submissions, and will run through January 30, 2020.

Mother's Daughter, the highly anticipated final instalment of Kate Hennig's Queenmaker Trilogy, is now on stage at the Studio Theatre. The production officially opens on Friday, June 14.

 National Endowment for the Arts Acting ChairmanMary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019.

Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, will present TENACITY, a one-night-only concert of founding artist Peter Mills' songs for tenors, spanning 20 years of new musicals. 

What's NEXT? It's the name of a group of emerging artists who will create theatre in a thrift shop in Studio City, a fabric store in Venice, a downtown art gallery and five other LA venues from June 8 to 18. Eight productions of The Way Home, NEXT's original salon-style show, will travel throughout the city to showcase a new generation of emerging artists who create theatre that speaks to all generations.

Celebrating Pride Month, Shakespeare Theatre Company will close out its 2018-2019 ReDiscovery Series on Monday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Lansburgh Theatre with a freestaged reading of Mae West's closet melodrama The Drag (1927).

Hairspray, a Tony Award winner for Best Musical, performs on the Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis June 7 -30, 2019. Co-directed and co-choreographed by Jordan Nichols and Travis Bradley, this high energy American musical is set in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1962. Tracy Turnblad's dream is to be on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance show.

Jessie's Messy Mind is a solo performance piece about Knowles' personal experiences with bipolar and schizophrenia. The show gives the audience a rare look at the world through the lens of a schizophrenic hallucination, a manic episode and a delusional state. Knowles performs the journey she's taken during her three years of graduate study as she's been discovering how to live, work and thrive while experiencing these alternate views of reality. The show is lively, humorous, fascinating and actually, surprising.

 Next up at the Kitchen Theatre Company is Tribes by Nina Raine, an atypical family drama that examines the power of communication within the dynamics of a British hearing family with a deaf son. Performances of Tribes begin at the Kitchen Theatre Company in the Percy Browning Performance Space on June 2nd and run through June 23rd. Opening night is Thursday, June 6th.

Baruch Performing Arts Center at Baruch College announces its 2019-20 Season of music, theatre, dance, opera and more, a season spanning genres and cultural influences, rich in imagination and ideas.

After a 24-year absence from Los Angeles, Great Britain's most prestigious ballet company The Royal Ballet returns to The Music Center for two back-to-back-weekends this July at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. From July 5-7, 2019, The Royal Ballet performs its masterpiece, Mayerling, a three-act work depicting scandal and murder in the 19th century Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Ars Nova ANT Fest presents MOTHER KOFI: THE TALE OF AN AFRICAN PRINCESS. The show will take place on June 4, at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
