FOX Entertainment has ordered a second season of the new animated series BLESS THE HARTS, to air during the 2020-2021 season.  With animation serving as a cornerstone of FOX programming, the network expanded its Sunday night brand this fall with the introduction of a new original voice and concept in BLESS THE HARTS. Created and executive-produced by Emmy Award winner Emily Spivey (“The Last Man on Earth,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Saturday Night Live”) and featuring a voice cast of comedy all-stars, including Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell, Ike Barinholtz and Kumail Nanjiani, the half-hour animated comedy follows the Harts, a Southern family that is always broke, and forever struggling to make ends meet. They one day hope to achieve the American dream, but they're already rich – in friends, family and laughter.

Production is currently underway in Alberta, Canada on Land, the feature directorial debut from Golden Globe winner Robin Wright. Wright directs and stars in the film written by Jesse Chatham with revisions by Erin Dignam.   Co-starring with Wright is Oscar and ALMA Nominee Demián Bichir.  Joining them in the cast is Kim Dickens (Gone Girl).  Land is produced by Allyn Stewart, Lora Kennedy, and Big Beach's Peter Saraf and Leah Holzer.  Wright will executive produce alongside John Sloss & Steve Farneth of Cinetic Media with Nomadic Pictures' Chad Oakes & Mike Frislev. Focus Features will distribute domestically, and Universal Pictures International will handle foreign distribution.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today the first wave of recipients to receive the Virtuosos Award presented by UGG®, an honor created to recognize a select group of talent whose noteworthy performances in film have elevated them into the national cinematic dialogue. Awkwafina (The Farewell), Taron Egerton (Rocketman), Florence Pugh (Midsommar), and Taylor Russell (Waves) will receive the award on Saturday, January 18th, which will be moderated for the tenth year by Turner Classic Movies host and IMDb special correspondent host Dave Karger. The tribute will take place at the historic Arlington Theatre during the 35th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

This fall, the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) honors the career of the actress Charlotte Gainsbourg with a CinéSalon series devoted to her work on screen. Running from November 5 to December 17, Charlotte Forever presents eight films starring Gainsbourg, spanning four decades and multiple languages. The series also coincides with the presentation of FIAF's Trophée des Arts award to Gainsbourg at its annual gala held at the Plaza hotel on November 4. The highly acclaimed self-titled sophomore album from Vagabon (aka Lætitia Tamko) is out today via Nonesuch Records. Peter Bjorn and John will celebrate their 20-year anniversary in 2020 with the release of their ninth full-length studio album – Endless Dream – due out March 13th via INGRID.  The band is dropping the first single “Rusty Nail” today with the news of the new LP and a Spring US headline tour that kicks off on March 23rd at the Teragram Ballroom in LA and ends on the East Coast where they play Webster Hall on April 10th before wrapping the nearly month long run with a show at Brighton Music Hall in Boston on April 11th.
