Masc4Match at Vortex Theater

Masc4Match is a live comedy drag play and dating game show written and hosted by Bobby Pudrido. Think a 1960s TV dating show collided with drag king camp and audience chaos. Set inside a fake live TV studio complete with applause signs, hecklers, and a pirate cat host with a sword, the show features three eligible butchelors, one diva contestant, and a room full of butches deciding who deserves love, or at least a first date. Expect drag king musical numbers, pop mashups, studio warm-up antics, and a Valentine’s ending that absolutely refuses to be normal.

Part drag spectacle, part interactive theater, and part community love letter, Masc4Match centers butches, studs, trans men, and their admirers in a bold, high-camp exploration of desire, identity, and queer masculinity. Presented by Butch Prom and The VORTEX, this limited-run Valentine’s Weekend event runs for three nights, with each performance offering a distinct, one-night-only experience blending nightlife, comedy, and performance art. Masc4Match builds on the success of Butch Prom’s sold-out inaugural event in July 2025, which drew over 400 attendees and raised funds for Black Trans Leadership Austin, continuing its commitment to celebration, community, and collective joy.
