Liberté Egalité Adoptée is a solo show about fitting in, standing out and why you shouldn't mention Cabbage Patch Dolls to an adoptee. British comedian Maggie Gallant never felt like she belonged with her family. What kind of parent would KNIT their daughter a swimsuit? With itchy, water-absorbing red wool? Maybe the same ones that would send her to school with her very own leather briefcase.
It all makes sense when she discovers her heritage at age 11. Until 38 years later when she finds out where she really came from. And then wishes she hadn’t. Liberté Egalité Adoptée is part of the annual FronteraFest Long Fringe festival.
