Salvage Vanguard Theater presents the premiere of Bright Mother: An Invitation to Being written by Rachel Long with movement guided by Sadé M. Jones. Co-directed by Long and Jones, Bright Mother was devised in collaboration with the ensemble featuring Camila Rivers, Allen Porterie, Adwoa Neal, Val Johnson, Kelly Goetz, and Celeste Egedy The original score is composed by Clara Brill and Nick Gregg with Walter Long. The set is designed by Lisa Laratta; costumes by Aaron Flynn; lighting by Natalie George Productions and Sadie Langenkamp; puppets by CB Goodman; stage management team of Val Johnson and Glory Reichelt; technical direction by Thomas Graves; and production management by Kate Taylor.

Bright Mother development was supported by a January 2022 SVT Works Progress Austin workshop with contributions from Rachel Long, Sadé M. Jones, Montsho, Marina DeYoe-Pedraza, Kate Taylor, Clara Brill, Nick Gregg, and Walter Long.
