After a successful first Swing Dance event last September, Aurora Theatre strikes up the band for another event at the beautiful 550 Trackside event facility on March 11, 2011 at 8:00pm. Swing Night at Aurora Theatre featuring the Metro Jazz Club has been a very popular concert series. Aurora's Swing Dance at 550 Trackside expands this series while giving folks a better opportunity to get up and dance. You don't have to be an expert to 'cut-a-rug' like a celebrity on Dancing with the Stars while taking pleasure in the big band sounds of the Metro Jazz Club. The Metro Jazz Club is a smokin'-hot 17 piece band accompanied by a sultry chanteuse, the magnificent Maxine Cummins.

Small Tall Theater Offers Summer Camps

Small Tall Theater will offer two camps this summer. Each camp will include theater, film, and improv components. This allows students to try their hand at work behind and in front of the lights. To honor the 100th anniversary of Tennessee Williams this year's process will center on an adaptation of one of his classic works.

Last fall, Theatre in the Square hired local educator and director, Susan Reid, to take on the role of Education Director. The winter acting classes for youth, teens and adults have been a huge success. Summer Camps will begin for grades 1-12 beginning in June. Each class will end in a performance on the Alley Stage. Theatre in the Square revisits Lillian Hellman’s American Classic, The Little Foxes

Theatre in the Square's first season included a revival of the 1939 Broadway hit, The Little Foxes. In the theatre's 29th Season, the American classic of greed, deception, corruption and manipulation will once again grace the Main Stage of the converted cotton warehouse that is now Theatre in the Square. The Little Foxes opens Wednesday, March 9, at 8 p.m. on the Main Stage. Tickets are available at the Box Office by calling 770-422-8369 or online at www.theatreinthesquare.com.
