Georgia Ensemble Theatre Announce Summer Camp 2018 Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, announces Georgia Ensemble Theatre Conservatory's Summer Camp 2018. Georgia Ensemble Theatre provides summer performing arts opportunities for all ages and levels of experience. Class sizes are kept small so that every child receives individualized attention in a safe, supportive and fun environment. GET offers a wide range of classes for classic acting, Broadway-style performance, playwriting, improvisation, and overall theater production.

GET's Summer Camp is split up into four segments: Performance Camp, Summer Conservatory Classes, Summer Teen Intensives, and Mash-Up Madness Camp.

PERFORMANCE CAMP

GET's Performance Camp is offered to students in grades 3 - 12, and is strictly reserved for students who have completed Summer Conservatory camps or a School Year Training Class. Students can choose the on-stage or backstage route, selecting Performance Camp or Design/Tech Camp for the production. This year, the students in Performance Camp will produce Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins Jr., a "practically perfect" production of the iconic musical. Performance Camp runs July 16-27, with two free performances of Mary Poppins Jr. on July 28, at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.

SUMMER CONSERVATORY

GET's Summer Conservatory Classes are offered to students in grades 2-12. There are two classes being offered in this segment; Stage Spells and Magical Musicals. Stage Spells will focus on performance skills through the stories of Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and more fun classics. Magical Musicals is also a performance skills class, focusing on popular Broadway Musicals. Stage Spells is offered June 4-15, and Magical Musicals is offered June 18-29.

SUMMER TEEN INTENSIVES

GET's Summer Teen Intensives are offered to students in grades 5-12, and run July 5 & 6. This segment is split up between grade level, with a new Middle School Improv Intensive offered to grades 5-7 and a Behind the Scenes playwriting class offered to grades 8-12. GET's new Improv Intensive for Middle School students focuses on fun improvisation training, improv games, and ensemble skills. Behind the Scenes combines movement, improvisation, and playwriting, creating a script for the following week's Mash-Up Camp.

MASH-UP MADNESS

GET's Mash-Up Madness Camp is offered to grades Pre K - 12, and runs July 9 - 13. This segment is split up between grade level, with Fairy Tale Frenzy for Pre K - 7 grade students, and Sketchier Things for grades 8 - 12. This class guides students through creating their own theater piece using sketch comedy, performance art, pop-culture, music, and movement. Students perform this mash-up series at the end of the week.
