Louise Pitre, Sarah Caraher & More Will Lead Nicholas Lloyd Webber and James D. Reid's THE LITTLE PRINCE at Theatre Calgary

After a spring audition tour across the country to see hundreds of Canada's most exciting musical theatre performers, Theatre Calgary just announced the cast for the world premiere of The Little Prince - The Musical by Nicholas Lloyd Webber and James D. Reid.

The Little Prince - The Musical will feature Sarah Caraher in the title role of the Little Prince, Adam Brazier as The Pilot, Louise Pitre as The Snake, and Elicia MacKenzie as The Rose.

The auditions, seeking out bold and original performers, were held across Canada with the production's
creative team, consisting of Theatre Calgary's Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum, along with creators Lloyd Webber and Reid, musical supervisor Simon Lee, musical director Elizabeth Baird and choreographer Lisa Stevens.

"I am thrilled that our stage will host artists with extraordinary experience and passion for musical theatre," says Garnhum, who will also direct the production. "And at the centre of our cast, we have discovered Sarah Caraher, a captivating young woman who has mesmerized us with her original and delightful talent. She will sing the role of the Little Prince in this original adaptation."

Sarah Caraher (The Little Prince), making her Theatre Calgary debut, was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario and is a graduate of St. Clair College's Music Theatre Performance program and Capilano University's Bachelor of Performing Arts. "I'm absolutely ecstatic to have the opportunity to tell this beautiful story onstage," Sarah says. "I can't wait to get started!"

Adam Brazier (The Pilot), who returns to Theatre Calgary after playing Aldolpho in our 2011 production of The Drowsy Chaperone, has starred at major theatres across Canada and played the lead role in the Broadway premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White. As the Artistic Director of the Charlottetown Festival, he's no stranger to musical premieres. "The adventure of creating a new musical is always so thrilling and inspiring," says Brazier. "I look forward to helping bring The Little Prince to life in such a vibrant and supportive city."

Louise Pitre (The Snake) is a leading light of Canadian musical theatre and the original star of Mamma Mia! in Toronto and on Broadway. She's also known for her signature performances as Fantine in LES MISERABLES (Toronto, Montreal, and Paris) and as Edith Piaf in Piaf, which played at Theatre Calgary in 1997.

Elicia MacKenzie (The Rose) is the winner of CBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria. One of more than two thousand actors auditioning on the hit show, she captured the hearts of audiences across the country and won the lead role in the Toronto revival of The Sound of Music.

The ensemble of The Little Prince - The Musical features a wealth of talent, including Chelsey Duplak, Kevin Forestell, Julio Fuentes, Jocelyn Gauthier, Keely Hutton, Joe Matheson, Andrew McAllister, Jennie Neumann, Alexander Nicoll, Nicole Norsworthy, Justin Raisbeck, Yemie Sonuga, and Jena VanElslander.

The Little Prince - The Musical runs January 19 - February 28, 2016 in Theatre Calgary's Max Bell Theatre in Arts Commons. Tickets are now available online or by calling Audience Services at403-294-7447.
