The "Catch the Grinch" ad campaign for Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical was awarded the Bronze Effie in the Culture and Arts category last night at the 39th Annual Effie Awards ceremony. This is the first time in Effie history that a Broadway production has won this highly coveted award. Running Subway Productions along with WeAreGigantic (formerly MargeotesFertittaPowell) accepted the award.

"Effie winners represent client and agency teams who tackled a marketplace challenge with a big idea and  knew exactly how to communicate their message to their customers. Effie Awards honor the most significant achievement in marketing communications: effectiveness," state press materials.

"Last year, the 'Catch the Grinch' campaign caught the attention of over 200,000 fans who purchased tickets to the limited engagement of Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. The campaign literally brought to life a Dr. Seuss classic through a holistic, unconventional campaign that inspired New Yorkers to Catch the Grinch. The production broke Broadway box office attendance records reaching over 23,000 people per week in December."

This year, The Grinch returns to Broadway from November 1st - January 6th at  the St. James Theatre. Ticket prices range from $25.00 - $111.50 with Premium seating also available. Group tickets are on sale now (Group Sales Box Office, 800.223.7565, www.BestofBroadway.com). Tickets will go on sale to the general public in September.
