A fascinating and vivid collection of photos depicting the original production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's reverse chronology musical MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG are now available to view courtesy of the New York Public Library For The Performing Arts.

Creators Sondheim and Furth can be glimpsed alongside director Hal Prince and the entire original cast of the 1981 Broadway production - including famous faces such as Jim Walton, Liz Callaway, Lonny Price, Ann Morrison, Tonya Pinkins and Jason Alexander.

Additionally, extensive behind the scenes photos of rehearsals as captured by famed photographer Martha Swope are now available to view, as well.

Of note, MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG originally opened on Broadway on November 16, 1981 and closed shortly thereafter following poor reviews and low ticket sales.
