Astoria Artist to Display Psychedelic Artwork at Q.E.D.

Q.E.D. will hold an opening night reception with light snacks in celebration of a new installation featuring work by Astoria artist Steve Pavlovsky on Tuesday, December 5th from 7:30 to 10:00PM.

Since its opening, Q.E.D.'s gallery has featured rotating artwork from local artists. Pavlovsky's collection is one of the most unique Q.E.D. has held, with each piece being distinctly vibrant and psychedelic.

Steve Pavlovsky is best known for his work as Liquid Light Lab, a mind-blowing psychedelic light show that blends traditional analog techniques with new school technology. A visual expression of music, his work has accompanied various Grateful Dead side projects, psych rock legends The 13th Floor Elevators, desert Burner parties, and appeared in the HBO series High Maintenance.

This exhibition is the first LLL gallery show in several years, featuring 30 new pieces. Captured in this collection of work, Steve's liquid light show illuminates ideas of time, light, perception, the universe, and fun. These ideas are presented through a variety of mixed media, including 3D lenticular prints, blotter paper, video art, ultra high gloss acrylic reproductions, and plain old inkjet prints. Steve was recently featured in Rolling Stone, authors a light show history blog, and provides tools and instruction to other artists around the world.

In addition to the many pieces that will be on display, the collection will include a video installation. The artwork ranges rom $50 to $400 and will be on display and available for purchase through June 2018. Payment plans are available. Art lovers are invited to stop by the venue, open seven days a week, to browse the artwork.
