Tawfik Al-Hakim's 1966 absurd comedy, The Fate of a Cockroach, transports audiences from a bathroom floor, where cockroaches rule, to a hardworking, middle-aged couple's morning ritual. When the husband commits himself to the King Cockroach's struggle to escape the bathtub, neither wife nor family doctor can liberate him from his pact.
