Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Ariel Dorfman's The Other Side will begin performances tomorrow, November 10 at New York City Center – Stage I in preparation for a Tuesday, December 6 opening night.

Directed by Blanka Zizka, the cast features (in alphabetical order): John Cullum (Atom Roma), Gene Farber (Guard), and RoseMary Harris (Levana Julak).

"Near the border of two war-torn countries, a man (Cullum) and a woman (Harris) wait, passing their days identifying the casualties of war and hoping for the return of their son who ran away 20 years ago. When peace is established and a border guard (Farber) arrives, their bleakly predictable world unravels. Dorfman's moving, unexpectedly comic work challenges the fragile identities we wrap ourselves in amid the chaos of war and an even more chaotic peace," state press notes. The Other Side had its world premiere at the New National Theatre in Tokyo, Japan in April 2004 and will also open in London in 2006 with Sir Peter Hall directing.

The performance schedule for The Other Side is: Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday evening performances at 7:00 PM.  Staring December 19th, the show will play on Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:00 PM.
