According to Michael Riedel of the New York Post,  Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Promises, Promises" - may be getting a Broadway revival.

It is rumored thatRob Ashford will direct and will be staging a workshop at the end of this month. Sean Hayes, from TV's "Will & Grace"  will play supposedly play Chuck Baxter, and Anne Hathaway will play the role of Fran Kubelik..

Mr Riedel says, "That casting's a little odd. Hayes doesn't seem quite virile enough to play a role originated by Jerry Orbach, one of Broadway's greatest leading men. And Hathaway's singing voice, heard a few years ago in a production of 'Carnival,' might be a bit thin for such gorgeous, complex ballads as 'Knowing When To Leave' and 'Whoever You Are.'"

Promises, Promises is a comedy based on the film The Apartment by Billy Wilder. The music is by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David, and book by Neil Simon. .The show was originally produced on Broadway in 1968, with a cast including Jerry Orbach, Jill O'Hara and Edward Winter. It played at the Shubert Theatre, where it ran until 1972, for a total of 1,281 performances. The show had a London production at the Prince of Wales Theatre in 1969, featuring Tony Roberts and Betty Buckley.
