Broadway Artists Alliance's Summer Intensive (Session Two) continues its Broadway guest speaker series with Lea Salonga, Tony Award winner and current star of Les Miserables.  Salonga participated in a short Q&A session and then spoke with the student on Friday, August 10.

"The two-week Musical Theater Intensive at Ripley Grier Studios, New York features a total of thirty current Broadway artists who visit, mentor, and instruct the group of young and talented performers during this two-week master class series," describe press notes.    In addition to Salonga's visit, the students took part in a Master Class with Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz on Thursday, August 9.

Broadway Artists Alliance is a NYC not-for-profit organization bringing together Broadway artists and promising young artists, ages 10-19, from all over the country.  All students go through an extensive application and audition process before they are accepted into the program.  The two-week intensive concluded with a final showcase at New World Stages on Saturday, August 11.

Past award-winning guest speakers for Broadway Artists Alliance summer programs have included Sutton Foster (Young Frankenstein), Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Jason Robert Brown (13), John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys), and John Gallagher Jr. (Spring Awakening).

Applications for the 2008 winter intensive are now available online.  Visit www.broadwayartistsalliance.org for more information.
