Charles Busch Joins Stories Left to Tell Cast, May 23-June 3

Author/actor Charles Busch will be the next guest actor to join the cast of the Naked Angels production of Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell. Busch will succeed "Nip/Tuck" star Dylan Walsh in the role of "Career," beginning Wednesday, May 23 through Sunday, June 3 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane).

Press notes state, "Busch is the author and star of such plays as The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, which ran five years and is one of the longest running plays in Off-Broadway history. He received the Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award and a Tony nomination for his play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, which ran for 777 performances on Broadway.   He wrote and starred in the film versions of his plays, Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, the latter of which won him the Best Performance Award at the Sundance Film Festival.  In 2003, Mr. Busch received a special Drama Desk Award for career achievement as both performer and playwright. Mr. Busch made his directorial debut with the film A Very Serious Person, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, where it won an honorable mention.  He is also the subject of the documentary film The Lady in Question is Charles Busch."

Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell opened March 6 and was conceived by Gray's widow, Kathleen Russo, and is directed by Lucy Sexton. The show compiles Gray's work, well-known and never before seen, including excerpts from Sex and Death to Age 14, Terrors of Pleasure, Swimming to Cambodia, Impossible Vacation, Gray's Anatomy, Monster in a Box, It's a Slippery Slope, Morning Noon and Night and Life Interrupted. Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell features an ensemble cast of five including Lisa Kron, Hazelle Goodman, Anthony Rapp (through May 27th), Tony-winner Frank Wood and a rotating special guest actor.

Performances are Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are  $35 - $65 and are available by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (212) 307-4100.  Tickets can also be purchased directly from the Minetta Lane Theatre box office by calling (212) 420-8000.
