The four guiding CAFF principles

1. Participants will be selected on a non-juried basis, through a first-come, first served process, a lottery, or other method approved by the Association

2. In order to ensure Criteria One (above), the audiences must have the option to pay a ticket price, 100% of which goes directly to the artists.

3. Fringe Festival producers have no control over the artistic content of each performance. The artistic freedom of the participants is unrestrained.

4. Festivals must provide an easily accessible opportunity for all audiences and all artists to participate in Fringe Festivals.

For the past eight years Horse TRADE has been focused on creating an entirely self sustaining, non funded, live theatrical entertainment company, equipped to bring it's audience the best of what NYC's independent theater community has to offer.

Horse TRADE's focus is on new work and emerging talent. Nurturing the abilities and talents of playwrights, directors, performers, designers, and producers, we have been facilitating the creation of engaging theater and provocative live entertainment since 1998.

Our facilities include The Kraine Theater, The Red Room and UNDER St. Marks. The Red Room and The Kraine Theater share their E 4th St. Location with the famous KGB Bar. UNDER St. Marks, on St. Marks Place between 1st Ave and Ave A, has been an experimental theater space since the 70's.

Horse TRADE is a collective of Resident Artists, each with their own unique voice. The community of Resident Artists, guest artists and artistic affiliates draw upon a deep pool of talent, resources and experience to create work which is relevant and entertaining.

Horse TRADE has become an active and vital part of the downtown scene, continuing it's commitment to present a varied program of performance series, readings, workshops, and fully realized productions.

EXIT Theatre is a 23 year old company that runs 4 venues year round. Our mission is to provide opportunities for a wide variety of artists to work and to develop an audience for that work. We have been producing the San Francisco Fringe Festival for 15 years and have been an active CAFF member for 13. Christina Augello, Artistic Director and Fringe producer, has previously served on the CAFF Executive Committee and has toured as a solo performer to the Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edinburgh and Prague Fringes. In addition to the Fringe Festival we annually produce DIVAfest, dedicated to women writers and other productions throughout the season. In late 2005 EXIT Theatre began to work with Erez and the Horse Trade Theater Group. In June of 2006 we produced LAST OF THE RED HOT DADAS at the Red Room. Horse Trade is a perfect organization to produce a festival in New York that supports artists by offering them an unjuried festival where 100% of the box office will be returned to the performing companies. We are looking forward to the opportunity to work with them again as co-founder of their new festival.
